You can hold your “Have a Cuppa” for Daisyhouse event anywhere – example: school, community centre, office, your home, your club or gym, the list is endless. If the first week in November does not suit you, just let us know what date does work for you!
The “Have a Cuppa” for Daisyhouse campaign is not all about coffee or tea – you can have anything you like in your cup – juice, porridge, chocolate, sweets, soup or maybe healthy smoothie! Anything you like! To make it more fun, ask people to bring their own cuppa – we’re sure everyone has their favourite and pick the funniest or the biggest “Cuppa” and reward the winner with a small prize.
Are you able to get your hands on a prize?! Fantastic!! Run a raffle during your “Have a Cuppa” for Daisyhouse event – it will get everyone involved. All the useful information you need to run your event including a poster to promote the event, say thank you and a sticker to put around your donation box are in this pack.

Women become homeless for many reasons – domestic violence, sexual abuse, sexual violence, ill health, human trafficking, addiction, relationship breakdown, loss of income and other complex traumas. When this happens, they need support, time and a safe space where they can start to rebuild their lives after the traumas they have faced, and, in time, move forward onto independent living.

Who are Daisyhouse Housing Association (DHA)?
Daisyhouse Housing Association is a 27 year old registered charity and Approved Housing Body that supports women out of homelessness.
How do we do this?
We do this this through the provision of Supported Temporary Accommodation combined with uniquely tailored, individual Personal Support Programmes to women who are homeless. We provide this service for 18+ month periods so our residents can break the cycle of homelessness and be empowered to move forward to safe, independent, sustainable living.
We also provide each resident with a fully comprehensive resettlement programme. Daisyhouse’s services are provided in safe, single sex, drug and alcohol free houses. Through our services, Daisyhouse supports the women through time and a safe space, to start to rebuild their lives so they can break the cycle of homelessness and be empowered to move forward.
There are very few organisations that provide these combined services.
Due to the housing crises, the women can often be with us for a number of years as there are limited safe permanent homes to move to. Over the past 27 years this programme has been successful in preventing people from returning to homelessness.
Every week Daisyhouse receives 3–4 calls from government funded housing associations, organisations and individuals seeking Supported Accommodation for homeless women.
We currently work with and support 15+ women at any time and also provide permanent social housing for 14 others, a number of whom, also require support.
Our Mission is to provide secure affordable high quality supported accommodation to homeless women and to provide them with the skills and confidence to move to independent living.

Today our office is filled with laughter and tears… happy tears. Today we took Sarah, who has been living with Daisyhouse for 2 years because she is homeless, to one of our social housing apartments and told her it was now her home. Her first home since she fled her abusive parents. After years of support and working to rebuild her life at Daisyhouse, she is finally ready to move on and live independently.
‘My name is Sarah. I was homeless through family violence and addiction. When I was homeless, I felt less than a human being. I slept in broken down cars, stairways and parks. I have experienced hopelessness on an unimaginable scale. I remember sitting in a doorway, cold, hungry and very alone. I watched people go by me everyday as if I was invisible. I was very vulnerable and scared especially being a woman homeless. I was in fear constantly of being raped again and abused.’
‘I came to Daisyhouse a very broken young women. My life had been full of trauma and pain. For the first time in my life, I felt safe. Daisyhouse gave me that safety It was a new experience. I began to grow as a person through encouragement and nurture from the staff at Daisyhouse. I began to experience self-worth, self- respect. I had a safe place to develop as a person, as a human being. Thanks to Daisyhouse and all the Staff I am now in college, achieving my dreams and gaining the ability to stand on my own two feet. The encouragement and nurture is a new language for me from self-loathing and put downs to love and kindness, and knowing I'm worth as much as the next person.

‘When I moved on from Daisyhouse, my place was taken by another woman. I will never know what brought her to Daisyhouse, but I know one thing, that if she came to Daisyhouse – she needs support, support they gave me. She needs someone to show her that she matters. She needs a safe space and time to heal and rebuild her life so she can move on, just like I did.’
Please make sure that she has the chance to change her life. Please support the other women, who come to Daisyhouse, out of homelessness so they too can have a future like Sarah.
Please hold a “Have a Cuppa” event in aid of Daisyhouse.
Without YOUR support they have no chance.
